This month gave Filipino sports fans plenty to cheer about, and we couldn't let it pass without a shoutout. Congratulations to brothers Carlos and Karl Eldrew Yulo for putting Philippine gymnastics on the world stage.
Carlos Yulo's Asian Games Gold
At the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, Japan, Carlos Yulo won gold in the floor exercise — his first-ever Asian Games medal, after missing the podium entirely at his only prior appearance back in 2018. It added to a collection that already includes two Olympic golds from Paris 2024 (floor and vault) and multiple World Championship titles. "Having this in my collection, it's all complete now," Yulo told reporters after the win.
Eldrew Yulo's Breakout Year
Carlos isn't the only Yulo making history. His younger brother, Karl Eldrew Yulo, claimed his first senior World Cup gold in the floor exercise at the Antalya World Cup in 2026 — in his senior international debut. At just 18, Eldrew also became the first Filipino gymnast to medal at the Junior World Championships and the first to perform the "Cassina 1" on horizontal bar.
Proud to Be Filipino
From barangay leagues to the Olympic stage, we believe in representing your team, your school, and your country with pride — and few embody that better than the Yulo brothers right now. Congratulations, Carlos and Eldrew. The whole country is cheering you on!
